Xinmu Cinema Project Overview
Appreciating and Understanding the Charm of Film Art with a Heartfelt Perspective
Film narration refers to trained narrators describing scenes with accurate and vivid language while the film is playing, providing visual information to help visually impaired friends experience a complete movie.
After more than a decade of exploration, we have developed the method of compensating for visual information loss—visual narration, narrating the world for the visually impaired. Due to their visual impairment, the most urgent plea in the hearts of visually impaired individuals is: ‘Tell me what you see?’ The role of visual narration is to answer this call by telling our blind friends, ‘I see this.’ Hence, we have started narrating other outstanding video works for our visually impaired friends.

“Without the compensatory function of visual narration, he is just a disabled person. The more visual compensation he receives, the more he can reintegrate into social platforms, becoming a more complete member of society.” —— Dawei (Chief Narrator)
“Narrating movies for the blind is a meaningful job. Achieving a moderately prosperous society in all respects means leaving no one behind, including people with disabilities.” —— Xi, Jinping

Huanyi Xiao loves traveling. Through movies, he dreams of tasting Antarctic krill at the southernmost tip of Antarctica and witnessing traditional dances with snakes in India. What a delightful experience it would be!
Hua Zhang’s marriage isn’t particularly happy; she feels that movies fill a certain void in her heart about love. ‘When someone narrates a movie for you, it feels like God’s special favor bestowed upon us,’ she said.
Ming Xin, who is 13 years old this year, has been blind since birth. When she was five years old and started listening to Dawei narrating movies, she picked up a paintbrush and began to depict the colorful world in her mind.
